Brent Burger
CFO
Brent started in accounting in 1992 and has spent more than three decades in finance, business leadership and operations since. He has worked at every level of it, from entry-level accounting to senior executive leadership, and he has been on the other side of the desk too, running his own accounting and tax practice and managing a BBQ restaurant. Owning a business teaches you things about payroll and cash flow that no ledger does.
That range is why he reads a company the way he does. Sound financial management is the floor, not the goal. What actually decides whether a business lasts is whether it builds strong teams and looks after its customers, and Brent has watched both versions play out often enough to know which one holds.
He joined Anderson Pro Painting in 2022 as Chief Financial Officer, and he took the job because the mission matched what he already believed. Winning for our customers and employees. That commitment is expensive on paper. Thirty-three full-time people with full benefits costs more than brokering the work out, and part of Brent’s job is making the numbers work so the company never has to choose between the two.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from Juniata College with dual majors in Accounting and Finance and a minor in History. He and Chris, his high school sweetheart, have been married for thirty-six years. They have two daughters, Sydnee and Mckenna, and five grandchildren.
Outside work he is with his family and grandkids, at his place in Tuckahoe Acres in Bethany Beach, travelling, golfing, or reading history. He is a committed Eagles fan, which in this office is close to a job requirement.
